(Episode #02 – COVID19 Community Chronicles) Disadvantaged or low-income families: “Every student should have a laptop. Full stop.”

Not having a computer or an Internet connection, it might be argued, is symbolic of the many challenges faced by low-income Singaporean households (with school-going children). And even with government assistance – beyond the provision of such technological necessities – individuals and community groups have also stepped up, offering other forms of assistance to Singaporeans who may have fallen through the cracks.

While it may be true that some research has documented the importance of active fathering and the potential for a child’s father to influence a woman’s abortion decision, the Centre for Fathering and Dads for Life should be more circumspect when evaluating the effectiveness of their initiatives as well as the extent to which fathers may have contributed to the decrease in abortions since 2010 (ST, Mar. 8).
